Bertram’s Booking Terms and Conditions

Cancellation Policy

Bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours* before 16:00 on the day of check in without additional charges payable. Bookings cancelled less than 48 hours of check-in are liable to 100% of the booking total.

*Please note this is for bookings made directly with the Bertram’s team. If you have booked via a third-party website such as you are subject to their cancellation policy which is outlined at the time of booking. Failure to arrive for your booking will incur payment of the full amount of the reservation which will be charged to the card details used to secure the original reservation.

Arrival & Departure

Bedrooms will be available for use from 3.00pm – 5.30pm. Late check-in can be accommodated when arranged with the Bertram’s team in advance. Rooms should be vacated by 10.00am on the day of your departure.

Bertram’s Restaurant

Our restaurant, is open to non-residents as well as residents and is very popular. If you wish to dine with us in the evening, we would recommend reserving your table in advance to avoid disappointment. If you have any particular time that you prefer to have breakfast, please let us know as soon as possible. Timeslots are allocated on first come first serve basis. Our breakfast menu is served from 8.00am to 11.30am.


Dogs are only allowed in designated rooms and there is a fee of £15.00 per night for accompanying dogs. Dogs are not to be left unattended in the rooms at any time. We also ask that you keep dogs off all beds and furniture. Dogs are not permitted in any of our other rooms and if you fail to notify us that you are bringing a dog and book a non-pet friendly room we reserve the right to cancel your reservation without notice.

Settlement of Account

Settlement of your account is payable by cash or card upon departure. All room charges and additional costs must be paid for at check out.

Smoking Policy

For the comfort and safety of all guests, we are an exclusively non-smoking establishment. In the event of any guests being caught smoking on the Bertram’s premises, a surplus charge of £250 will be added to said guest’s bill to cover the cost of any cleaning needed. In the event of the fire alarm being triggered by a guest smoking at Bertram’s, an additional charge of £500 will be added to said guest’s bill to cover the cost of the fire brigade call out.

Damage To Our Property

We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage which has been caused by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless acts of guests to the hotel’s property or structure. If such damage is discovered during the stay it will be drawn to the guest’s attention but if discovered after guests have departed then we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit/debit card, or send an invoice for the costs for payment to the registered address. We will make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that guests would incur to a minimum.


The liability for guests for their account is not waived and guests agree to be held personally liable for any charges incurred during their stay. In the event of a booking for more than one room (a group booking) the lead or registered guest (the lead guest) providing credit/debit card details is personally liable for any person, group, company or association that fails to pay all or part of such charges. CCTV is in operation at Bertram’s.
